Assisi Care Programme is a social outreach program of the Parish initiated
by the catechism department and the parents of the catechism students.

Evening Meal supply at Medical College, Kalamassery
Every Saturday in the evening a group from the Parish sponsors food for the
poor patients of the medical college. The group goes there and distributes the
food to the patients and by-standers.This is an enriching experience for the
children and the parents who participates in this.

Education assistance for tribals in Wyanad
This is a project conducted by an NGO in Wyanad for which the Parish
provides financial assistance. Every day evening children from tribal families
come together in a common place for obtaining tuition for subjects of their
study in school. Since they come from poor families, even food is given to
them as part of the program in order to improve their nutritional levels.

Both the above programs are being continued for several years now.
St. Francis Assisi Parish is implementing a housing scheme intended to
build houses for those parishioners who own at least two cents of land but
are unable to have a house of their own.

We have constructed eight houses according to this scheme each house
costing Rs 5 to 7 Lakhs. Usually we do this ensuring a government grant.
The parish’s contribution is between 3 and 4 Lakhs per house. More
importantly, we have contributed Rs 2 Lakhs to the Archdiocesan project
Karunya villas. One of these villas is allotted to one of our parishioners.

Recently, we have also bought 2 cents of land each for two families as they
had no possibilities of owning a piece of land. The house will be built with
local self-government grant.

Any parishioner anywhere in the world or any person of good will is welcome
to make his or her donation to this housing scheme.
